JB began playing alto saxophone in elementary school, bass guitar at the age of 14, and continued to learn various instruments throughout the years as he pursued his love of music. He was in various rock bands during the 80’s, including Scavenger and Brother X, and Mr. Makebelieve and Far From Near in the 90’s. He continued in the 2000’s with Jamie Bullock Band, and his current band, Life Overwhelming. JB has played all types of music over the years, including R&B, Hip Hop, hard rock, pop, gospel, metal, and countless others.
JB worked with Ted Etheridge at Music Box Studio in Hamilton, NC for many years during the 90’s, where he learned on formats from reel-to reel to ADAT to Pro Tools. He credits this time spent at a class-A studio for what he originally learned on Pro Tools and applies to the many plugins and digital audio workstations software he currently uses. JB feels recording is a constant learning environment and fortunate to work with the many people he meets in, from, and surrounding the music industry.
